Video information sheet

(go to video gallery)

What is the video gallery for?

The Talking LighterLife video gallery is where you can watch publicly available videos and share your video clips with your online friends.

How does the video gallery work?

When you click on "Videos" on the top navigation bar you will see a listing of all video clips - including your friends' and your own - that you are able to see.

This includes LighterLife public video clips, where you can see interviews with clients, snippets of tv interviews that featured LighterLife - in short anything that we think might interest you.

To watch a clip simply click on the video as it appears in the listing, and a new page will open with the video clip playing.

Who sees my videos?

There are only two ways for your video clips to be viewed by others, and you have control over both of these.

1. Any online Talking LighterLife friends can see your video clips. But in order for them to be your online friends, you would have had to accept their friend request, or they would have accepted yours. So you know exactly who they are.

2. Everyone can see your video clips if you decide to make your profile public. A public profile means that any information you type about yourself in Talking LighterLife is available to everyone. Read more about public profiles in the About Me Information Sheet.

Why can't I upload video clips?

To be able to upload video clips you will need to be a member of LighterLife and registered on Talking LighterLife.  If you are a client and you haven't registered yet, simply visit the member area and fill in your details, including the membership number that your Counsellor gave you, and choose a username and password.

As soon as you click "submit" you will be taken to a page with a link "Talking LighterLife". Click on this link and you will be taken straight to Talking LighterLife and you will be able to join in the conversation and upload your videos immediately.

How do I upload a video clip?

Once you are in "Videos" click on the blue button labelled "Upload".  Please make sure your video clip is not bigger than 10 MB otherwise you might have trouble uploading it.

Step 1:

Upload video

Use the "browse" button to access the video clips on your computer and select them for uploading. Remember the video clips should be only a couple of minutes long otherwise you might have trouble uploading them.

Presentation text...

Insert your description of your video clip. Remember your online Talking LighterLife friends will be able to see your clips so describe them in a way that will make sense to you and to your Talking LighterLife friends.

Title...

Insert a title for your video clip.

Tags...

The tags allow you to choose keywords that you think might interest people that they can search on. So, for example, if you put up a video of a delicious chocolate shake then tag it: "chocolate shake".

Then click on "save".

How can I delete a video clip?

You are able to delete any videos you have uploaded by simply clicking on the "delete" button underneath your chosen video clip. A window will pop up asking if you are sure you want to delete the gallery. Unfortunately we can't restore videos to you so please make sure you are deleting the correct video.

Please note: you are the only one who can modify or delete your images and photo galleries on Talking LighterLife.

Other video clips

You are able to comment on and rate other videos that are available to you.

Rating other videos:

If you watch a video and you enjoyed it you can give it a rating. On the right hand side, just above the blue button "post comment" you will see a set of rating boxes labelled "your rating".

Commenting:

Post your thoughts and tell others what you thought of the video by clicking on the "post comment" button.
