Vanilla Shake plus Coffee

Content is edited
Hi All

I keep on seeing how people love the Vanilla with coffee. I tried it once but was not very impressed with it.

How do you make it? You have it Cold or warm? Thanks

I have a teaspoon of cinnamon every day always have as it is very beneficial for type 2 diabetes, I thought I had checked this with my LLC at start of programme and got a yes but I will ask her to recheck that it is ok. Has not out me out of ketosis but you are right not listed as a condiment in the book. However if in doubt your LLC can check with the central office and give a yes or no.

It might not have anything to do with weight loss but maybe doing something to one's taste buds which keep us focussed on food. Although it is only conjecture. They have introduced apple and cinnamon porridge so the flavour cannot be the reason. On the other hand perhaps it does stop ketosis in some people.

Well, that's a bummer. I've had it for 15 weeks though without any issues so I doubt that it will cause harm now....

Please remember that cinnamon is not permitted on total, or any kind of spices (except pepper). If it is not mentioned on page 18 (?) of the green book it is not permitted.

I use cold water, a bit of instant coffee, and some cinnamon. Tastes like liquid Tiramisu to me. Yum! I'd have it all the time if it wasn't for the fact that the shakes don't seem to agree with me. So now I only have it when I want to clean out my system. ;-) Still, probably the nicest possible way of doing that.

Its definitely thicker if you use water that us s bit cooler than boiling. I use 450ml and mix coffee in and then leave to cool for ten mins before adding the vanilla pack. It blitzes up nicely and is smooth and thick and creamy. Too hot and it's thinner.

Oh I love this - it really keeps me on the straight and narrow. I pour the required amount of freshly boiled water into the shaker then add my usual amount of coffee, add the vanilla shake and then wizz with the electric hand mixer - then add just a touch of cold water so that I can drink it straight away. yummy !! Having said that if there is one thing I have learned on this programme is that we are all different !!! some of the concoctions peopls come up with are just revolting to me. I also have spiced up the chicken soup with a satchet of the broth - when I just can't face another bowl of chicken soup- I am not that keen on any of the others. Wll done you on a fantastic weight loss so far !

For me, boiling water is the problem. I now make up the shake with coffee powder in a minimal amount of cold water - say about 50-100ml then I add hot but not boiling water and I get something drinkable almost straight away. If you leave the vanilla or chocolate shake for 5 min before drinking it seems to get thicker and for me more delicious.

Jonjo, your freezing water idea sound delicious too. I will try it soon too, as soon as the weather gets warmer. Lewcon, i think i will try to split my pack in 3 as well. I did my half a pack with 200ml of water, but since i never used to have sugar in my coffee it was slightly too sweet.

  10. RE: Vanilla Shake plus Coffee

This is my absolutely my favourite, I put a spoon of coffee in a very large mug and add half a sachet of vanilla put some boiling water in and stir to get rid of the lumps and gradually add more water to fill the mug it is like a vanilla latte and I get to have another later in the day. I can get 3 coffees out of one sachet but I am trying not to add too much caffeine back into my life so restrict myself!!!
